ANZ REGULATORY REGIMES
Each Australian State and Territory and New Zealand independently regulates for electrical product safety.
UL’s certification office has JAS-ANZ accreditation and operates with recognition as a Recognised External Certification Scheme (RECS) according to the Electrical Equipment Safety System (EESS), and as a Recognised External Approval Scheme (REAS) according to the New South Wales Office of Fair Trading.
Our aim is to facilitate certification that enables our customers to sell their product in any Australian State and Territory or in New Zealand with confidence that they are meeting the applicable regulatory obligations.
Our dedicated team delivers a timely and simple certification outcome without compromising on safety compliance or risk. Our clients share a high value on confidence, reputation and brand protection.
UL has a global focus on independence and our ANZ Certification Office is independent from laboratory testing activities, being funded by fees charged for certification services.
Test reports from any ILAC accredited test laboratory are accepted as evidence of compliance for ANZ Certification. Test reports must be in English, must be less than five years old and must be endorsed with the applicable accreditation marking.
Products covered by the ANZ Certification Scheme are not subject to ongoing production surveillance and may not be marked with the UL Mark.
Additional market assurance is available by certification under the UL-AU Certification Scheme
. The UL-AU Certification Scheme does include ongoing production surveillance and authorization to use the UL Mark on product, packaging, and promotional material.
